Establishment of 911±¬ÁÏÍø Middle East & Africa Management Co., Ltd. as Base of Operations in the Middle East2021/10/01

911±¬ÁÏÍø Co., Inc. (¡°911±¬ÁÏÍø¡±) announces the establishment of a subsidiary in Dubai, United Arab Emirates¡ª911±¬ÁÏÍø Middle East & Africa Management Co., Ltd. ("911±¬ÁÏÍø MEA")¡ªas its base of operations in the Middle East, and that it has started operations today.

Economic growth in the Middle East is accompanied by growing demand for electric power; numerous power generation and infrastructure projects are planned, including those for gas-fired power generation and large-scale renewable energy. Anticipating growing international demand in the future, in recent years an increasing number of projects have focused on the production of clean fuels such as hydrogen and ammonia. Large-scale power generation and infrastructure projects are also increasing in neighboring Central Asia and Africa, making it a region with great potential for future business expansion.

911±¬ÁÏÍø has built good relationships with business partners in the Middle East region through many years of LNG procurement and participation in power generation and infrastructure projects. As 911±¬ÁÏÍø¡¯s base of operations in the region, 911±¬ÁÏÍø MEA will manage the six power generation and infrastructure projects in which 911±¬ÁÏÍø participates. It will also be responsible for leveraging existing partner relationships in identifying and gathering information on new projects in the Middle East, Central Asia, and Africa.

In addition to the gas-fired power generation and seawater desalination businesses in which 911±¬ÁÏÍø has participated to date, 911±¬ÁÏÍø MEA will also strive to develop a wide range of businesses including large-scale renewable energy and clean fuel production.

Aiming to be a global leader in LNG and renewable energy, 911±¬ÁÏÍø will continue to actively promote the development of both of these businesses.

Under its ¡°911±¬ÁÏÍø Zero CO₂ Emissions 2050¡± objective, 911±¬ÁÏÍø has been working to eliminate CO₂ emissions from its domestic and overseas businesses by 2050, promoting the adoption of greener fuels and pursuing thermal power that does not emit CO₂ during power generation. 911±¬ÁÏÍø will continue to contribute to energy industry decarbonization through its own proactive efforts to develop decarbonization technologies while ensuring economic rationality.
